^^^lol. I don't know much about these CSK, so I am going to read up a lil unless someone wants to chime in and give a quick rundown on these struts.

Koni's are a better shock period. And once you shorten them a little in the stock housings you get an even better setup. Its nice to be able to adjust your shock height without compressing is beyond where you want to.
i will just throw some numbers out there for example sake. Say you have a total of 4" of travel stock. Now drop the car 2" and now you have 2" of travel and the shock you are using is already compressed 2" before you even put it on the car. If you shorten your shocks by 2" you get the shock back to where it should be so it is not getting compressed and a chance to bottom out. You still have the loss of travel issue but there are things out there to help get that back.

After installing my GC/AGX combo it would make it easier with CSK's so you are not worried about putting spacers in the setup to keep the shock away from being compressed 100%. I got a great deal on the AGX's so if they last 2 years i would be happy with them for what i paid. CSK's are the best you can get, you can choose the insert you want to pair with the spring rate you are using to get the best ride and performance out of one setup.

Not quite back on the road again...yet. I had some serious financial set-backs this past year. Readers Digest....

My mother passed away, and that was the most mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially draining event of my entire life. I took off tons of work to be with her the last few months she was alive, plus travel and expenses. I'd do it again with no reservations, hesitation nor regrets, but the financial strain was indeed immense. Looooong thread under my name in Off Topic. This forum was very good to me during that entire ordeal as I poured my heart out over those last few months. When I say long thread, that thread spanned a few months, dozens of pages, several dozen posts by myself, and hundreds of responses. Kinda getting misty right now thinking about moms passing, and the overwhelming support of this community.

I also got thrown in jail in December for possession of marijuana. That was another couple of grand or so "marijuana tax" and I'm currently on probation. I think there is another thread on that subject, under my name, in OT. And yes, I intimidated the sh*t out of the three (3) cops who arrested me at gunpoint, and every other cell-mate during my brief incarceration. Eh...it's not like yet another charge on my lovely record is going to change much.

Also, purchased a pre-owned, low-mileage 2004 Chevy Tahoe along the way. Loaded to the gills, perfect condition, every option available. I love everything about it but the gas mileage.

On the other hand, the money is accumulating again, and my Classic will be fixed. And fixed correctly. I have a set of MDM Tsurus sitting on my shelf. I am about to place a large order with Greg Vogel, and then pull the trigger on the body-work and repairs. I can hardly wait, it has been fourteen (14) months now. But I am a patient bastard when I have to be, and there is no doubt whatsever that my Classic will come back better than ever. Hell, even wifey is getting impatient and wants the Classic back up and running.

Not a girlfriend in the Classic, an...ahem adult entertainer. A stripper, one of my ladies from work who was hitching a ride home. I have been married now for twelve (12) years. And wifey knew about my temper and propensity for ultra-violence waaaay before she married me. In fact, her threatening to divorce my big grouchy, overtly aggressive Conan ass about six (6) years ago is what finally got me (back) into serious therapy, and on some happy meds. I can still turn Barbarian instantaneously when I want or need to, but have a much better control over when, where, and how that happens. And my wrath has never, ever been directed against my wifey, children, friends, or any females (outside of security work). Nevertheless, it was way past time that I got myself under control and now I can at least fake being civilized most of the time.

And in case you folks don't know, Jerry is also one of my favorite members of our SR20 family. A quality human being through and through. And I have no qualms about him giving me a hard time. I'd be disappointed if he didn't.

Just read this post below, and follow the enclosed thread to Steves long thread on the subject of CSK's (Custom Shortened Koni's). Also, there is full write-up in the SR20Forum Technical Library (also by 98sr20ve aka Steve) on how to make them yourself.

Stock strut body. Shorten 1". Use appropriate Koni insert. You now have a strut with Koni guts that "gives you back" an inch of travel lost with a conventional lowering spring. If you are utilizing Hyperco's or RM's (1" drop each) you will still have the full 3" of OEM travel. *Certain* specific springs from the Major Manufacturers will also work with CSK's as a good daily-driver suspension. The H&R's for example only have a 1.4" drop. A bit too much, with too soft of a spring rate to be used effectively with OEM length struts. But teamed up with CSK's, you only "lose" 0.40" inches of travel, and have a spring that is 20-30% stiffer than OEM. Perfectly acceptable and comfortable, for a DD.

AGX's ain't bad at all paired with Hyperco's, RM's, or GC coil-over sleeves and the appropriate Eibach (racing) springs....however, CSK > AGX any day of the week. No question about it.

Unless you are a dead-serious road-racing guy, I cannot imagine someone going beyond CSK's teamed with Hyperco or RM conventional springs, or CSK's with GC coil-over collars with Eibach (racing) springs. But then you are willing to drop a couple grand (2K+++) or more on your suspension and are looking at mega-buck (relatively speaking) coilovers. Plus, you would know waaay more than I do about suspensions.

Didn't read the whole bit, but have you gotten in touch with Scott (Shigspeed)? I know he makes some sweet stuff. Him and Steve Foltz are the 2 guys I would turn to.
