Yeah, there's no BASIC for the B13. I thought you had a B14 when I wrote that. Sorry.

Well, I can't seem to find Tein BASICs for a good price, but I did find Progress coilovers for a great price, I think I am going to jump on those. Heard nothing but good things from all the threads including ShawnB's.

I had Hypercos with Steve's csk setup for about 6 months before getting a great deal on a new set of Progress coilovers. I loved the Hyperco/csk setup, it's on Kimme's car now. I like the Progress even better, and picked up the ability to adjust camber via GC plates. The only downside is that I lost my Cusco front strut bar. I picked up one from SHig that mounts to the GC plates instead.

Awesome! glad you like the Progress. They are currently on 6wk backorder, so I will have to wait on that.

It seems I found some AGX/Hypercos; so I'll give that a shot unless the progress come in stock soon. If I do get the AGX/Hypercos I'll run some Tein upper mounts on them.

You are the Best Dad Ever to slap that suspension on your daughters very cool car. In 1980'ish high-school, I drove a '68 Volvo station wagon with no AC (in San Antonio, TX) and vinyl seats. Slowest car ever, moved at glacial speeds. Literally, no one else in the family would drive it, but at least it was reasonably reliable. Dad also did not care much if I bounced it off a few things being young and stupid. Which I was.

Kimme you are one lucky chick.

What specifically do you like better about the Progress set-up over Hyperco/CSK? Do you DD, track the car, or both? How is the comfort level during DD between the two?

Yes, I have CSK envy.

And the irony of you not being able to use your Cusco FSTB is rather priceless.

I own AGX/Hyperco/Koni bumps. Plus pretty much all the trimmings (Cusco FSTB, AT RSTB, wheels/tires upgrade, Progress RSB, Superpro caster bushings, etc...) A very nice daily-driver performance suspension, I love it. Light-years better than stock, less travel but actually less often bottoming-out than stock. Very firm but not overtly jarring from the drivers seat, and I am old and broken down. Wifey does NOT like being a passenger, however she also loves driving the car.

Well, this is on my daily driver. And while it is stiffer, it is also better damped, so bumps tend to be absorbed. What is also noticably better is that it feels stuck to the road on corners. No leaning, you turn the wheel and it turns. A lot has to do with the total package I have, which btw sat in pieces in my garage for close to a year and a half between purchases. Progress adjustable bars f&r help a lot. Front full soft, rear medium. Ride height high enough to clear all the speed bumps in the garage at work, low enough to still look great.

Yeah, I have to laugh at that too. All the work I did so that YOU GUYS can have Cusco bars.

Excellent description (even down to the old and broken down part ) of how it feels as a dd. And yes, Gloria hates riding in, but loves driving it. Even brags about beating down some of the local "ricers" on occasion.

Kinda makes it all worth it at the end of the day.

Methinks I hafta copy what you did one of these days. The hyperco/AGX approach works pretty well but she's pretty short on front travel. It's the progress bars that make it not lean, tho - - - :-) mine set the same.

i have a question for some of the people out there that know allot about koni's. i am wondering what the best setup is to go with? i have heard things about using Toyota bodies and #### koni inserts. found out my buddie can weld pretty well so i plan on doing the coil over type setup's others do but without any of the labor costs

The people that use the Toyota Housing, only use it because it has the Gland nuts and they only use the top portion of it mounted to a Maxima Housing. also, you'll need some 8611 or 8610's. I don't think you want to do any of that.
