I want a summer tire that has good control when you run into standing water. Not just wet pavement.. Does such a high performance tire exist?

Kumho Ecsta XS

Not really. The only thing that works really well then is a full wet, and those are burned up really quickly in the dry. The Falkens aren't terrible in the wet. I've used them as street/rains on my track NX for years. You really can't go too wrong with any of the usual "extreme" summer tires. My picks in no real order: Falken Azenis, Hankook RS3, Kuhmo XS, Dunlop Star Spec, Bridgestone RE-11 or Advan AD08.

I'm running BF Goodrich kdws and I love them they grip great and they're good in the rain. The price is a little steep but when I bought them I had a 50 dollar coupon plus a 60 dollar mail in rebate from discount tire.
