Thread: B14 strut question

I have searched a lot lately! and have not found a answer so i figured id post

I recently bought another B14 my last one hd H&Rs in it and it was alright but bouncey. For my new B14 i decided to try the Tein S-Techs mostly because i really want the stance they give with the rake 2.4 front 1.1 rear.

The question is about AGXs or GR2s, this car is not a road race car or a drag car it is simply a DD and a fun street car. In my DSM i run a Tien coilover and i know i wont get the same ride out of a cheap suspension. Im wondering if anyone puts B13 front struts in there B14s because of the longer travel?

Any help would be appreciated, I know the SR community doesnt like the Tein springs but like i said this suspension isnt being put together for any type of performance or road racing the car is all show no go.

since no one has answered you in a few days, i will entertain this question. i believe the answer is yes on the B13 fronts. I would not recommend the Tein springs for a DD unless you have smooth roads, they are bouncier than the H&R. I had Tein AGX's on my B14 and the stance is awesome but the ride is bouncy as hell. Then I bought a parts car with the H&R and GR2's and the ride was alot better but still bouncy. It won't matter if you put the B13 fronts on either because with that much of a drop you WILL bottom out! Koni bumpstops will help out a lil and you will start to hear squeaks after 2 years (mine was ridiculous)

So if you must go Tein i would say, AGX's, doesn't matter B13 or B14( it's cheaper to just buy the set for the B14), Koni bumpstops, and set the fronts on 2 at the least, and the rears on 4 at the least and you should be squeak and sag free for a couple years depending on the roads. Just my .02 cents....

Ok cool I got a price from my parts connect at 120 a strut fo the AGXs i might grab a set in the front.

I just ordered a set of Tien H Techs there suppose to give a better ride then the S Techs and they lower the front 2" the back .6". It should give me the stance im looking for, I also throw in a set of bump stops and ill report back.


This car will not be Auto Xd or drag raced it is simply a DD all stock for now, so im just looking for a decent ride.
