grinding sound in right front wheel
I thought i had a frozen caliper, but my rotor seems to scrape the caliper only when I turn left or right. Any ideas? wheel bearing? Spindle nut not tight?

have you had to do any work lately in that area? grab a flat head and pry the dust sheild away from your rotor.

naw, it's more serious than that. I actually have to give it more gas to take off in a turn. Like leaving a parking spot and turning left or right, I can actually feel that wheel dragging. Have to give it more gas, almost like the parking brake is on. But going straight it's just fine.

Loose lug nuts, loose caliper mounting bolts, loose spindle nut, wheel bearing are all possibilities.

probably a wheel bearing if the lug nuts are on tight. i had the same problem and it fried my caliper on the way to the shop to get it fixed.

wheel bearing, get it replaced before it completely explodes/fails. Been there and done that.

yea, just replaced the spindle, the axle, the rotor, and the caliper in my girlfriends cougar because the wheel bearing exploded.

thank god mine exploded about 1/2mile from my house. I have no idea how I was able to drive the car home with no bearing. When I removed the wheel, what was left of the bearing was just chunks of metal.
