Thanks for the pic Squirlz.

Looks like a lot of oil get's caught up and caked on in the "low rpm" section of the pcv path.

Also looks like a lot of places for debri's to get stuck when sanding/sandblasting/powedercoating the VC.


Now, is there any merit to running an aftermarket catch can with these VC's? Most aftermarket catch can's are just empty chambers and have no baffles. Makes me wonder how well they actually work.

I would love to know also, I conclue that the main adv is the external catch cans doesnt dump back into your manifold/turbo....

DE VC (note the caked in blast media...thus the reason i had to remove the baffles

There are those as well, but the plate is also higher in the valve cover. I can get some measurements later, but it is a noticeable difference. The plate also has the drain holes in different spots and the half circle cut out is bigger on the VEs.

Benfenner should come and add some arrows showing the different airflow routes indside these vc's.
