Same thing happened to me, the previous owner tried to tighten down the dizzy without it being engaged correctly in the cam, I ran mine like that for awhile, no problem.

last time i did that it snapped the ear of the dizzy lol.


kaotekxe let me know if u decide not to run these im looking for some s3s for my gtir and id buy em off u and give them a shot. iv got a set of bc stage 2s and stage 3 that im not useing so hit me up if your interested.

so i installed them and no issues so far.. i cleand up the edges with my dremel.. i think i need some s4s though since im boosted.. cams are the shiznit..

You realize that if you have a GTI-R motor you should be running the JWT GTI-R specific cam designed for the different valvetrain of the motor.

not sure if your talking to me but yeah this i know thats why i have 2 sets of cams lying around collecting dust wish i would of known before i bought them i never heard a word from anyone about them not working in a gtir so thats why im looking for s3

I am trying to tell you that S3 cams will not work in a GTI-R head, you need the S3M cams, the M standing for mechanical. If it doesn't have the M it won't work. The S3 is different compared to a S3M.

ah your a lifesaver, i knew the m stood for mechanical but i didnt realize that they made a s3m and an s3, i thought they only made the s3m cam. i learned something new and in that case your the man saved me from buying yet another set of cams i cant use thanks a ton man.
