N/A DE setup advice?
Hi, i have a SR20DE highport powered Sunny GTi with only about 50k miles on it. Run really strong, but i want a little more power. I made A LOT OF searching, but still have a few questions.

Im going to buy SSAC 2.5" header and im not really sure what size of exhaust piping would be the best - 2.25" or 2.5"?
I want to replace cat with round resonator. Muffler will be oval one. Do you think Magnaflow do the job well? A dont want extreme loud exhaust, but something acceptable for daily driving. My future mods will S4 cams if i decide to stay with DE. If i not decide to stay DE, i will buy a VE or DET.

DE setup will be JWT popcharger, JWT S4 cams, Prothanes, SSAC header and 2.25"-2.5" exhaust. Can anyone tell me if is ECU tune needed or its 100% safe to run this cams setup without ECU tune? Im afraid of engine will run lean.

I think i can be with this setup close to ~155whp.

with the cams, I'd decide to go with 2.5" piping. I have the same setup on my car. Megan 2.5" exhaust, SSAC headers, a Hot Shot CAI with a pop charger on it, as well as JWT S4 cams. I am probably going to get a RealTime ECU from Calum also and tune it to MAX power. 155+ is easily possible, some UR pullies could help also. good luck.

Hey phor, is this your exhaust?

How do you like it? Is it loud and drone-y at all?

I say you should go with C2s over S4s as you'd have more power after 3500rpm to fuel cut. The only problem is you need valve springs, also with some adjustable cam sprockets you can shift the power band where you want it or adjust it for a smooth idle.

id say the popular choice is the s4 camshafts. they are a good choice too

2.5", no doubt.

Leave the stock cat in place. It is not a restrictioin whatsoever on a NA motor, dyno proven, 0-2 whp gains - maximum.

Shawn B: ok, i leave stock cat.. but isnt cat smaller size than 2.5"?

I am making 150 HP, 142 FT lbs torque to the wheels witout cams and I have 2 1/4 exhaust. Only thing I have that you did not list are pullies. That and a flywheel but have been told flywheels dont gain you more power just simply help you get into your power band quicker. I bet you could reach 155 HP no prob.

personally i would recomend a way to monitor air fuel ratios and a way to control them...wideband and safc...thats just me tho

the stock cat is 2.5 in and out, with a generous cross-section in between.
