If you can fit the GTIR bearings then I would go with ACL, though they are a bit pricey. If you can't fit the bigger bearings, stick with the stock size. It really isn't worth the extra money for the GTiR bearings with the machining needed and the extra cost of the bearings.

do you belive the single hole ones could do the job? it'd be really hard to get a machine shop do the groove needed on the block here where i live.... i understand the calico coating gives em superior specs than std...

thanx for the imput so far guys...

crank ain't coated.... bearings well... if the OEM are enough i might just order them from the nissan factory in aguascalientes

better than dealing with intl shippin if the results are not going to be affected

Yes, I'd like to know as well.

The ACL stuff is real stuff. Good stuff. Made from lead, just like the good ole days. They are a 3 metal deal iirc. Coated bearings are really nice. Molybdenum disulfide? I believe is what is used. It helps metal on metal wear a lot. But so does a good oil. Not worth the extra money imho.

I have noticed that newer bearings still have a copper center, but the outer material is a lot harder than the older stuff. I'm not sure what the OEMs are using in bearings on the new cars. It is def not as soft as the old bearings, but I'm sure technologies have allowed for a lot less debris finding its way into the bearings during breakin.

i think i can get oem bearings for like $750 pesos, that's like 50 ~ 52 bucks a set... the ones coated that DARKGHOST posted earlier retail for twice that price, and still have to add international shipping... i don't want to go cheap and sacrifice reliability... i want to get the best parts for my engine... even if that implies having to save more money, make more sacrifices and waiting more time ... hopefully someone who has used ACL's product can give us some input....

not that there is anything wrong with them, i am just not a fan of coated bearings, they dont seem to last as long. Like if i was building a drag car i would prob use acl race series, but on a street car i would just go king bearings.
