forget it. If you aren't answering my simple 'what is this head temperature' thing you're talking about, then it's not worth the time answering yours. I'm not an idiot, nor did I wish to have this off topic conversation in this thread - I put in the highport because I can afford it and I'm in canada and can't sell it and buy a $300 motor, the closest thing I can get here is $580 +$150 shipping. End of story.
Now please, unless you are going to answer my question, the 'why did you put a highport into a b15 because this, that, and the other thing' conversation is over. It's in, it's running, and I need to adjust something to get it just right.
Gosh, it's like talking to a politician, a straight answer to a straight question "The 'X' sensor is located 'Y' on the lowport, which doesn't exist on the highport, how did you connect that"
"Oh, I did 'x' to compensate"
"Good."

or
"gosh I didnt think of that, I'll do that right now"
"good."

I would assume Andreas is talking about:

Since measuring coolant temperature is used at the end of the day as a rough estimate of the temperature of the engine head. We really don't care how hot the coolant is usually, we're more interested in the temp for the head. It's just done with a coolant temp sensor. So they could be called the same thing.

Thank god. Finally a straight answer.

Yes, I swapped the temperature sensor from the highport out, and put the sensor from the b15, so it should still be in range. A simple idle relearn will fix this I'm quite sure; when the time comes after the vacuum leak is fixed.

Thank you Ben, I was getting very frustrated thinking I missed a step.

Yes, but the B15 fast idle control works diffrent from the B13 fast idle control.

I'd like to get back to basics here...

You're saying you removed all ways for air to get into the engine? Are you 100% sure?
Did you remove hoses that attach to the throttle body (up stream of the throttle plate) and run back to the idle control valve? Did you make not of any routes built into the cast manifold? I'm not an expert on the design of the vacuum routes of the intake, but when I looked at mine carefully the last time I was surprised to see so many ways for air to get in.

There use to be a B15 down here with a Pulsar motor running the pulsar ECU. The wiring was done by a friend of mine. It ran very good too. The guy's name was Juan.

If your looking for a vacuum leak on the intake manifold, use starter fluid. Spray and listen, spray and listen. Once you hear the idle pick up, you found your problem. You may already know this, but just incase you didnt I was just throwing my .02 cents in.

Just did not feel like answering questions anymore. For me it was like if you dont know what a head temp sensor is and where it is located then doing the job makes no sense to me.

perhaps if you called it what it was, then I would - if you said any of the 3 suggested temperature things, I would have knownexactly what you were saying. Saying 'head temperature sensor' is like me telling you I'd like to purchase a 'comealong' - which, unless you know the lingo, you wouldn't equate to a ratcheting winch. When dealing with someone who has done a lot of fsm research to make this happen, it's hard to generalize a sensor and expect one to know what you mean.

and yes, i removed EVERY air related thing on the intake - and plugged the holes - I am waiting for the 2 new gaskets to come in, then back on it goes, and testing after that.
