Header choke diameter and exhaust diameter are two different things. Op's referring to header choke diameter. Running a choke larger than 2.5" is going to lose power. Good luck, keep us posted on numbers.

^^This.... I have an old ASP 4-1 header from years ago that has a 2.5" choke but flares into a 3" flange for a V clamp. Designed for max power. Google Burns collectors & see what the choke size is on their examples. Maximizes velocity in the exhaust flow and their choke size is no more than 2.5", at least on a 2.0L.

Dude, Jordan, chill out. You were talking about exhaust size post cat - where apparently for N/A VE it's best to have 3". jagy was talking about choke size, which is pre-cat, where apparently 2.5" is the maximum size for the choke ID before you actually start to lose power from it being too large.
