So in theory it should work better? Payu waiting on the results me avisas si vas pal dyno!

We tried this on my first high comp 2.0. My setup did not like the N1 intake / 20V exhaust combo. We also tried different settings on the cam gears. I stuck with N1's. Granted my bolt ons at the time were not so efficient so who knows.

how different is the cams mix from using cam gear setting to affect over lap?

Honestly I dont man. We did this like 3 or 4 years ago. We had a set of 20V's laying around and tried them out while we were tuning on the dyno.

yes, ALMOST all the forum says 0,0 is best, maybe because one person said initially and everyone else just followed. I have dyno-proven that +5, -5 works better [than 0, 0] for me. and yes similar set up to most of you guys. sr20ve + n1 cams and regular I/H/E bolt ons with re-programmed ecu. Also, i am prepared to sacrifice a little top end power @ the expense of a broader power-band.

and +3, -5 works better [than 0,0] with sr16ve NON n1 cams

...as a community, i would prefer if more people TRY and SHARE their results rather than just believe what all other say WITHOUT proof

thanks again payu for the help with cam gear settings. another sr20ve with non n1 sr16 cams just did well on the dyno..

I know my camp swears by N1's at 0'0 because that has yieled up best results on the dyno and track times with our cars. We have been doing our own thing up here and ignoring what everyone else has said.

A good friend of mine on this forum made 190ish whp with a very healthy VE with cam gears at +5 -5. Switched cam gears to 0'0 and it was above 200whp where it should have been. Motor stopped at 214whp which was right on par for the parts it had on it.

I tried the N1 intake and SR16 non-n1 ex. cam combo about 2 years ago. It didn't feel all that great, specially down low. Made sense since the SR16 ex cam has the lowest low lobe of all the stock cams. I did not dyno the combo but did data logged the maf output, poor man's dyno. The datalog showed a slight lower maf output of .05 volt throughout the high rpm. That was good enough for me and so I took the SR16 ex cam out.

I tried the combo because I thought the N1 ex cam had too much seat duration (valve lift at .003").

Don't let my result disquade you from trying it out. It's alway a good idea to have more feedback on the cams.

Man really makes me wish I spent more time w tuning my gears. I was still at 4/4 when I did 218 and 259 lol.
