If you want stronger and can do fabrication/modification, try Mistubishi EVO gearbox.

Mistubishi EVO gearbox - good idea! is it suit for transverse SR20VET?

Derm has already done the Auto to Manual conversion on the Xtrail GT.

He got rid of the 4WD and used a 6sp SR20 tranny. It bolted right up. Think he mentioned having to make up a rear engine mount as it doesn't exist with the auto 4wd setup.

And off course all the clutch pedal and gear lever changes. Maybe he'll chime in with all the details here.

But then its just FWD ...

When its AWD why not keep it AWD ? Would be a waste i think, but that's just me.

Pro's and cons to each setup. So depends what you're after and what your budget and available tranny options are I guess.

what about swap of QR20 mechanical trany? I think it will best option for installation, if I use only fwd option and 4wd on low speed will it survive?
