You will have more power, thats a fact. Not sure if its advantage in drag racing, because im not fan or expert, but even Cory with his 2.3L VE run DE box with 4.75FD.
Yes. I had great article in my favorites by Honda owner, he was comparing few cars with all calculations, graphs, etc.. it was pretty good, but link doesnt work anymore.
EDIT: This is the link. It redirects me to main forum page. Probably its only for registred users.

The only reason for the shorter gearing is make sure when you shift your always on the big side of the cams. I personally dont see any advantages too it, the milli sec it takes for you to shift into another gear is time on the clock.
It all depends on what your power band looks like. And it is always best to try and finish at the top of your given gear. That's why you play with final drives and slick sizes to match your trans/slicks/fd/ to your whp and trap speed. Its just that its more effective to be at peak whp as you finish the 1/4. Not saying you have to obviously not all of us do and we still run some damn good times. My car finishes way before peak power in 4th but its better then it was before the fd..
Good job this car is quick as hell for drag radials and full interior wow.
