rear o2 sensor delete?
okay im in the process of doing a rear o2 sensor delete on my 99 p11 since i put an obd1 high flow cat on it and didnt want to buy a sensor or weld in a bung so i need a little guidance so far i talked to jwt and he gave me the idea since they dont do sensor deletes anymore
he said whats needed is a 440k ohm resister
went to the local shack and got me some 220k ohms and combined 2

then i went ahead and connected it to the ground and signal wire for the sensor

and mister smarty pants over here didnt repin the harness for the b14 ecu to run the rear o2 sensor so that will happen first thing tomarrow but befor i go turning this into a howto or getting to far ahead of my self do you think this will work?

P.S. i do not have a sensor just the pigtail since someone cut the sensor off

You need to repin the harness, older ECU's are not programmed to run 4 wire o2 sensors, only 3 wire ones.

i do know this but im trying to get rid of the entire sensor? i have just repined the ecu and dont have a sensor just the wires off of one so im trying to just put a resistor on it and trick the ecu?

I tried, it's too painful and a bit dangerous. Too much voltage is going through the heater cores. It's best to have a sensor wired up but the signal wires bypassed.

do the wires get hot without the actual sensor?

Wires no, unless you wire it up wrong. But where they send the current to will get hot. Best advise is to just connect a bad O2 sensor (leave the black and gray wires unplugged though), and hide the sensor someplace outside of the car.
