Timing for 300Whp on pump gas.
Hello guys, I've been taking a lot of time tuning my B13, I'm using a calum ECU and tuning via Nistune, it's been great so far, I'd like to get 300WHP, right now, Dynodatalog says that Im runing 270whp@ 1 bar of boost with 92 oct pump gas, I still need to work on the timing map because I'm getting some knocks on my SAFC counter, I need to make sure that are really knocks and not fake knocks.

any way, I'd like to ask you guys what do you think of my timing map, shoul I pull some degrees or should I stop and user some more oct fuel?

Dynodatalog says I'm at 270WHP, I got to tell you, I've never felt the engine that strong.

AFR it's rich before boost, at WOT is at 11.2-10.9 aprox.

My setup is:

JDM SR20DE HP engine 100% stock
DW 550cc@4bar inyectors
Z32 MAF
Walbro 255lph FP
Nismo FPR@4bar
Garret/Turbonetics T3/T4 .063 turbine A/R 60 comp
2.5 inch DP and exhaust
EVO VIII FMIC
ACT XTSS Clutch kit
Greddy EBC

Any help, advice will be much apreciated, thank you

In my opinion you're too rich. As for getting more power, I'd say your timing looks like it is in the ballpark so you need more boost. Or go through the intake and exhaust with a fine-toothed comb and clean up any imperfections.

how rich are you before boost? i also agree your WOT is way to rich to make power mid to higher 11s would be a nice afr to shoot for. the afr should be progressive higher to lower going a little leaner before boost or in off boost will yeild you better spool and response.im sure a rich off boost is killing accelleration and power you could be making

I agree, my afr before boost it's rich, 12's before boost, when boost kick in, afr is arround high 11's going richer and richer until 5500 rpm when goes to high 10's low 11's..Past 6000 rpm stays on high 10's..

I'll play with my AFR tonigh and I'll dynodatalog again to see the results, if knocks are gone, I'll up the boost to maybe 17 psi. I'm pretty sure I'll get to the 300 goal soon.

Thank you all for your answers, we'll get to the mark..

If you clean up that fuel map I think you will be mint

This is my fuel map, it's off by .2 more less..

I'll lean up to 11.6 on the boost side, and I hope to get those 30whp that I missing..

Thanks guys.

Just FYI (since I can't read TP maps worth a damn) while you're not in boost you should be anywhere from 15.7:1 to 13.0:1 depending on rpm and load but once you get to the threshold of boost you want to be at 12.8:1 solid and across all rpm.
Then go richer as you build boost. I like to see 12.0:1 by 7 psi or so and then hold 12.0:1 for the rest of the map but you can go richer if that makes you feel comfortable.

Going from 13.24:1 AFR to 11.61 in one cell jump between 35 and 39 TP is wacky. Engines are gradual, smooth operating devices for the most part. There's nothing special that happens between 35 and 39 TP above 5,000 rpm that would require so much extra fuel. The map should be smooooooooth.

Ok, great advice, thank you, I will work on smooting that fuel Map, damn, I can't wait to get home! hehehe..

Thank you.

Try to get the right corner of the timing map to 10 deg where you make full boost the gradually increase the timing to 17 at peak hp then start adding timing in two deg increments from right corner of the map to left according to the value on the right.

i would personally work on leaning out your offboost afrs that is easy, its way too rich and that really needs to be cleaned up first IMO.
