I was stupidly running similar timing on the old 9.5:1 engine and ran into detonation. Now I'm running 19.0 degrees of timing there and I swear I'm still detonating. When I bring it down to 18 or 17 degrees I get retarded misfire.

This is anywhere from 11.5:1 to 12.0:1 air/fuel ratio.

What am I supposed to do? This is 11 psi. There's no reason this can't be reliable without crazy tricks.

well your the know it all, im sure you can figure it out ;p.

I hope so. Otherwise there might be a certain Black SE-R up for sale in the future. That's not something I want to do.

Then (in theory at least) you should be able to get a great tune on and off the bottle even though you don't have multiple, switchable maps on the Calum. (I don't think so anyway.)

Yeah I just need to setup the two different tunes/bins and can use my laptop to switch between the two.

No, it should be able to be done with one tune I believe.

I'd rather have two seperate bins that both yielded the most safe whp available, than have one in between tune if that's what you mean.

Once again though, I have no real idea how to tune. I've always just messed with stuff at the drag strip. If it goes faster, good, if slower undo whatever I did lol.

Lol I have no problem whatsoever with just having two seperate bins and using my laptop to switch over whenever I go to the track. It's not like I use the nitrous on the street. Even then I've been running it with the timing turned back only 3 degree's from stock(when spraying) and the car still does great NA that way. I really prefer the calumsult/option to change things. I just don't really know what to change lol.

I'm trying to say that you should be able to tune the car well without the nitrous. Get it running great, and that tune would not have to be changed when you spray at the track to get maximum benefit from the nitrous.

And as I write that, I realize I'm an idiot , and I'm only thinking about fuel.
You want two separate timing maps. That makes sense.
Sure.
Do it with two different bins.

Lol I was wondering why you didn't understand what I was saying. I'm no genius at tuning but I know that to get the most NA you typically advance the timing, and that you HAVE to retard the timing for nitrous.
