Passed emissions. Yes!
Well, I took my car in for emissions testing today and I passed! It's an OBDII 98 Sentra SE with an Injen CAI, SSAC header, and a Magnaflow cat-back but, I was still concerned cause I've never tried to do an emissions test with a modded car.

I know that in my county for an OBDII car they only do an ECU diagnostic and I didn't have a "check engine light" but, I was still nervous all the same.

The best part is that I'm certified for 2 years which should be enough time to run a simple turbo set-up on the car, even with my meager budget.

I should also mention that I did make a point of retaining all my sucky emissions crap. I have the cat, oxygen sensor, and even the EGR sh!t but, if I can find a way to get rid of all the crap on top of my intake manifold, turbo the car and still pass emissions in 2 years I will do it.

I Passed My Emissions Test Too ! ! !
I was sooooo surprised that I passed...

Passed with the EGR blockoff kit (no EGR and no BPT on Intake Mani) but I reinstall the AIV (fresh air to exhaust stream). Mine is ODB1, so they cant do the ECU plugup.. I also have WAI, CAT, Magnaflow Catback, SSAC and converted 4-wire O2 sensor.. I did lower the timing to 13deg and lowered the idle to 750.. So, it was running dog slow but PASSED Emissions!!

Congrats on your Smog Test!

Nice! I would love to get rid of that pesky EGR tube, but I'm afraid the check engine light will come on.

I had no choice with the always clogged EGR tube.
When I installed the SSAC header, I could not attach the EGR tube. So, I installed the blockoff kit instead...

No CEL light will come on if you leave the EGR/Cannister solenoid connected (or do the resistor mod) and do the vacuum line reroute exactly as the Vacuum Reroute thread describes..

The EGR is a major PITA! I got mine to fit in the header, but not without a fight and it still leaks a lil bit.

Is the EGR bung on your SSAC kind of tilted down @ an angle? Mine is and it pisses me off. I mean, how hard is it to weld a bung on staright? Hehe, I guess you get what you pay for, right?

Its really not that bad man.. you just have to take it off all the way.

You need to follow that tube back to under the intake mani. There is a big ass bolt that you need to loosen. Once its loose the tube can move more freely. It will allow you to to unscrew it a lot more easier than before out of the header. Once you get it out of the header, straighten it up and tighten it back into the header as far as you can.

Once you do that. Re-attach the big nut and tube under the intake mani back up.. get that as tight as you can also. And you are golden.

I found this out the hard way. And I have told this to person after persona that had the same issue. Figure's tho.. because like 3 months after all this I did the NisSport EGR block off plate.

It's really not that hard man... I have faith T-Bone! LOL

Do you have a link to this re route thread? I didn't know about it.

I did exactly what you just described last time I installed it. LOL I probably just need to re-torque all the bolts. If that doesn't work I will just block it off.
