Thread: please help! 1991 sentra ser clutch cable.

I had to cut the threaded end of the cable because it was binding where the lever and the cable meet. So the pedal would stay stuck down sometimes. Put it back and the car wouldn't go into gear. Adjusted it all the way back and still won't go into gear. Took the bracket that holds the cable and drilled holes by the end of the bracket and it still won't go into gear. I don't know what to do. Any one have this problem before?

Yes it returns when the cable is disconnected.

the cable is stretched and will need to be replaced.

Thanks for your help. Found the cable was too tight. Loosened it back up and moved the bracket back to the original holes and it works like a dream. Just incase anyone else has this problem.
