Mine used to leak between the glass and the rim that surrounds it. I sealed it with black silicone by tapeing off the rim and then laying a strip of masking tape on the glass about a 1/8" from the rim. I then put down the silicone bead, smoothed it out and removed the tape immediatly. When it dried it looked factory and hasn't leaked since.

most of the time, a leaky sunroof means you've got a clogged drain tube. thats the first thing to check.

My thought as well. There is a drain tube on each side near the front of the sunroof opening that channels water down to discharge under the car. Find these and make sure that they are clear as a first step.

Yes, the sun roof is fully functional and it's been almost 3 years now without leaking, I'm talking about a thin silicone bead around the edge of of where the rim meets the glass. It's not even noticeable.

If you want to keep using it, dont' think I'd recommend trying to add sealant. The ALL leak; that's what the drain tubes are for. Check that first. I tried to replace the seal on my '93 (different from yours) and the bakelite surrounding the glass just disinegrated. It lasted 2 days. Manged to find the whole insert (new everything) and dropped it in (four bolts, as I remember). But that was an expensive option (but then, it worked). If you don't want to use it, you can likely seal it with silicone.
