Sr20ve
Ive been looking at different engines to swap in my se-r , and im almost certain im going with the bluebird engine tigerjapenese offers for 690 , and ill have to buy the the ecu and wiring harness from them so it will be about 1k , 1200 shipped. Ive came across a few decently priced sr20ve heads online though, and i was wondering if the sr20ve head would bolt onto the sr20de block with little to no trouble?? If it does take modification to work , what all needs to be done? or does this even work? just and idea.

are they unreliable like the Honda Frankenstein motors? i.e B18B block with a b16a head commonly known as the poormans type-r?? or the VE head preety much just slaps on and runs like a top?

i know nothing of the hondas but the ve head is a direct bolt on save a few minor mods that need to be performed. its also possible to buy a complete VE for fairly cheap. miko could send you a funky fresh engine

I think the only thing that would make them unreliable is poor installation when going DE/VE head.

But I'd just go with a complete VE engine.

I agree by the time you buy a ve head for about $800 you could spend $400 more and have the complete motor.

I might do do that then. Im torn between a VE swap and a Bluebird swap. Id like to do a all motor setup , it would be a super sleeper because most people just see a older sentra and think its slow. I think i could get into the 13's fairly easy all motor. However i love boost, and i know i could run low low 13's really easy with the bluebird swap easily , and it would be extremely reliable. I got this car specifically because i wanted to build somewhat of a sleeper.

B18b have weak rod bolts, so when you but a vtec head b16, b18c the rod bolts can't stand the hi revving so the bolts snap or become lose and the rods and pistons are left dangling in the block

Addtionally, you will not have this problem with the ve head and de block combo
