That is a sick crash. I hate to see that sort of thing. The amount of concentration required to drive a race car is tremendous. You have to remind youself to check the flag stations every time you go into a corner. Especially if you are about to pass someone. And ALWAYS look way ahead of the car directly in front of you. I am glad I did not see anything like that yesterday at Sebring.

yes, us w2w drivers MUST be fully aware of all corner stations/flags and what could potentially be happening in front of us BEFORE any corner worker even gets a chance to show any flags..

It isn't the safest sport.. ..and there is a reason we have to sign so many waivers, get physicals often, vision tests and why the rules are so strictly enforced. That spec miata driver may even loose a license over that incident but its not my call to make (sounds like his w2w driving might be over anyway)

Agreed.

One thing people haven't seemed to mention is the responsibility of all drivers to look out for each other. The collision may have being avoided if the lead driver did the "frantic arm wave" to warn the overtaking driver. I make it a point to do this, especially if someone is glue to my ass and is somewhat in a blind situation.

it's the red/yellow flag missing with waving yellow IMHO.. stationary yellow isn't good enough in this case if you ask me..
