NX delete side marker panals, Legal???
I want to get rid of the ugly orange side markers on my NX but I was told that it would be a violation of some sort even if I add fender indicators. I can't afford to get pulled over because of my job. What have you guys experienced?

Doubt it is. My b13 has JDM front and rear bumpers. JDM bumpers do not come with side markers. I've never been pulled over for it.

I got them and had no issues. Quite frankly, most people, let alone cops know what the hell the car is to even question the fact that you removed your side markers. Don't worry and enjoy!

Tint them, that's what I did to my p10's side markers years ago & much better than nightshade spray paint too.

More than likely it's illegal in your state not to have them. Will you get caught? Probably not. Is it a good idea to remove/mod them from a practical stand point? Not really. How are other drivers suppose to see you at night from a side view? They're there for a reason. Just saying.

I had the deletes, unfortunately they snapped taking them off to repaint. Ask Mojo. I doubt the law will even know if NX's are supposed to have marker lights or not.

I think your question might be better answered by the Cali DMV handbook.

Here in Texas, in the DPS Driver's Handbook, it has all the requirements for a motor vehicle; and I quote -
"Reflectors - Two red reflectors, one on each side of the car (may be combined with taillights) must be placed at a height of
15 to 60 inches and be visible up to 600 feet; visible up to 350 feet on vehicles manufactured before 1960."

In my case, it's not illegal to remove the two orange ones from the front fenders.
All I need is to keep the two red ones that are on the back bumper.

I will check the Cali DMV hand book but I think I won't have an issue.

@Socius
http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/veh_code.pdf
(book page 537 and 538)
(Browser shows it as pg 555 on scroll bar)

"Reflectors on Rear
24607. Every vehicle subject to registration under this
code shall at all times be equipped with red reflectors
mounted on the rear..."

"Reflectors on Front and Sides.
24608. (a) Motortrucks, trailers, semitrailers, and buses
80 or more inches in width manufactured on or after January
1, 1968, shall be equipped with an amber reflector on each
side at the front and a red reflector on each side at the rear.
Any vehicle may be so equipped."

So, no, it is not illegal to remove your front orange reflectors/sidemarkers in California, they are NOT required on cars.
