Thread: Finally a new NX2K owner

I fell in love with the NX because of this forum. I kept seeing them time and time again and after seeing Eggman's I knew I had to get one. After months of searching I found an NX2K for $500 just two miles from my house. I arranged to see the car and when I pulled up I was excited because the car was in great shape! The car interior is 95% mint and complete. It had one owner who bought it back in 92. He had blown the engine years ago so he garaged it. His mechanic was also there and told me that it would need a new engine so it wouldn't start. After about an hour I was able to start it and drive it home that night! The engine does need some work so I'm think about just swapping it.
Looking forward to having her ready for the SR20 West Coast Convention in November.

Wow good deal for $500 Lol the previous owner and his mechanic must have felt like asshats after you tinkered with the car with its "blown up"motor and was able to start it and drive it home. What was wrong with it anyway?

Post more pics! Looks nice though. I also just bought a 1992 NX2000 from the original owner about a mile from my house. You're lucky that yours was sitting in a garage. How many miles on yours?

Nice buy!! So what was the issue??

I wished I could of filmed their faces when the car started up, they couldn't believe it!
I haven't played with the engine yet so I'm not sure but it looks like it had over heated and water got in to the heads.

They guy told me that his son is in the car detail business so the car was waxed monthly up to the day he garaged it.
