Power Windows and Fog lights
Hey Guys,

Just got an NX2000 and looks like there are some electrical issues. Wondering if this is a common problem? The power windows do not work. The fog lights are out. And the horn is broken. Is this normal or should I be concerned? Should I just go ahead and replace the fog lights and window motors or is there a deeper problem?

Thanks,
Mike

For the windows, try replacing the driversside control box first (the little box that is attached to the doorpanel and has the switches on it). They tend to fail, resulting in either non-working powerwindows, or non-working powerlocks, or both.

Foglights could be just a fuse, but you could easily check for continuity.

Horn, could be a faulty fuse or bad wiring.

Thank you for the reply. Looks like I'll be taking care of these issues as soon as possible.

Anyone have a passenger window motor and/or a driver side regulator for sale?

Check for a short somewhere before you go replacing parts. My horn and fogs don't work either. I took it to someone I know who has a degree in electrical engineering and he said I have a short some place. Said it would take him a couple hours to find it but it could be fixed easy enuff.

You need to do some diagnosis before you just go buying/replacing parts...save yourself some time and money!

There are FSMs available free/online to help with this. The EL section also outlines detailed steps in testing/diagnosing your electrical components...as well as their location.

Hope this helps.
