Madison/ Milwaukee area painters?
I'm looking for some recommendation on a good painter in this area. My dad is fully restoring a 74' AMX Javelin and he is wanting to get it painted this winter. He is doing all of his own body work/ primer work to the car, so all of the shops he looked into won't touch it. If anyone has some recommendations that would be great.

I know of a great shop but its in freedom, wi which is around 2hrs from you. I'm bringing my nx to them this winter for paint.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm thinking that may unfortunately be to far of a trip for him. He's located in Waterloo, Wi., so that would be ~2.5 hours or so from him. He's wanting to get it painted over the winter, so I'm thinking that Wisconsin's great winters may hinder that length of a trip.

My old boss had a Red AMX that was in great condition and a Black Javelin that he used as his summer daily. Nice cars and really nice to see on the road.

I know of a couple places in Madison. One is called Paint Doctor, they do great work and i know they would spray any car even if someone else did the body work. The other is Roman Auto Body and he does really good work as well. I do not know him as well but have seen and heard good thing about him.

I have had work done at Paint Doctor and would take my stuff there again. No matter where you take it i would recommend him to let the body shop decide if another coat of primer and final blocking is required. This puts them on the spot to make sure the paint job is good and not just say it was your work that caused the blemish ect. I know many of the workers at Paint Doctor and they do great work at a fair price.

Roman might be a little more but i believe it could be a tad bit better.

If you want to give me a call for more info, send me a PM.
