There is a very small step that needs to be machined into the stock flywheel, it makes a big difference. Not sure how this applies to the the Fidanza.

did you replace the clutch cable? if so, was it with a GENUINE NISSAN cable? If not, I can almost guarantee this is the problem. Generic cables are PURE CRAP and usually cause all sorts of adjustment issues.

You may want to make a small spacer for the clutch cable also, this can help a lot with adjustment, but with a genuine nissan cable you should have no problem.

Redline MT-90 made the synchros function far better on my old tranny and eliminated any grinding when slipping into gear.

x2 on this.. In my civic I had my buddy help me change the clutch and he was the one that actually put the clutch in and when I went to start it I got nothing but grinding and the pedal felt kinda weird too... I dropped the transmission and turned it around and BAM worked perfect

Do not take the gearbox out until you check all the easy things first.

Linkage (and shifter bushing area)
Clutch arm
Cable

I sent you a pm already.

did you replace the cable? is it a genuine nissan cable? you can tell it genuine nissan if the adjustment wheel is metal. Plastic wheel = generic

Either you put that clutch in backwards or somehow a spring popped out when you fired it up(highly doubt that). Anything is possible though. I hate those clutches. My brother had 2 or 3 of their 6 pucks break springs and leave him stranded. I personally had the springs break/pop out on 2 of my JGY units as well. Thats why I stay unsprung from now on.
