B13 Speaker box for the trunk/backseat opening
I was thinking about building a box that is sealed for a single 12" in my B13. I would have the sub facing the cab so I dont get the raddle from the trunk as much and would have a bit clearer sound. I was hoping to make the box like a wall between the trunk and back seat. This way I can mount my amps onto it as well. I will mount a JL 300/4 and a JL 500/1 to the back of the box with a 3F cap.

Has anyone done this before or have any kind of layouts that I could use to build?

Well, I am looking to make something pretty simple.
I may just go to an audio place and have them build me a simple box. I just need to make sure I can take it out when needed to replace things on my car.

Same here, but a well built box is often more important than the sub.

I am not going to be pushing the amp to the max on this sub. i will just be pushing it a little for clarity. I am more concerned about functionality with the car.

There was a guy on here you bult a box so the sub would fix where the spare is, it was cool cause you didnt have to move the spare.

Okay, but most sub boxes don't require you to move the spare.

The bass will be better/lower with the box facing the rear,in most cases.Bass waves are long,so they will have more time to get deeper before they reach you up front.
Thats why you hear a car behind you or a couple cars back so well.

As for the enclosure...yes,it is important to match it to the speaker and environment(space in the car)
I have heard cheap entry level speakers in a properly designed box(for the speaker and application) BLOW AWAY great speakers in a crappy box.
Thats probably the biggest mistake people make in car audio when it comes to subwoofers.
They go buy an expensive sub,and amp ...then go slap it in a generic box and are usually let down.
Sometimes you get lucky and it will surprise you,but more likely not.

I would compare it to just throwing parts at your SR20 and just bolting stuff on vs. dyno tuning your setup for optimum performance.
