Thread: Problem with lights

I'm at the end of my rope with this problem. The problem is that my parking lights, foglight and interior lights seem to work intermittently when ever they feel like it. My headlights and taillights and turn signals cut on fine no problem there. But the parking lights, foglights and interior lights cut on some times and not others. Sometimes when i can get them to turn on they cut off and on randomly while driving. Its not everytime though some times they work flawlessly.

I have tried somethings like making sure all the fuses or pressed in all the way and taking the light and turnsignal assembly out of the steering column and taking it apart and cleaning all the contacts. They all seemed to hit the contacts like they are suppose to. Are there any other points where all these are connected that comes loose or anything else i should check.

As always any help is greatly appreciated as i would like to be able to reliably drive the car at night.

I would start wiggling wires, and beating on relay boxes/junctions until I was able to duplicate the problem.

I did wiggle all the wires connecting to the switch at the steering column but didn't seem to make a difference. pushed and pulled on all the fuses related still no difference. The only thing left i can think of is it might be related to the keyless entry which flashes the parking lights and foglights when locked or unlocked. The previous owner hooked it up but it stopped working shortly after i got it (not sure what the problem is there either but have no problem using the key)

I was flipping though the FSM and came across something i think i need to check. There seems to be a daytime lights control unit looks like behind the drivers side kick panel. Any one had any problems or experience with this unit. I am going to check this out in a day or two.

Old thread but have a similar problem!
Shorted something while tapping into one of the switches by the hazard light and now my interior lights, park lights, tail lights, switch illumination dont work. I do still get power to the switches that i was taping into but not power for illumination. Checked fuses, fusable links(all but one as its stuck pretty good) and the relays under dash. One of the fuses gets no power a 15amp one (need to check again to make sure which one) but fuse is good.
Anyone got any ideas?
