Valve spring removal tools
I have been searching for the best tool to change valve springs. The snap on kit with the brackets and rod seem to work best, but the price tag is $$$. I don't know if I'll even change valve springs again after this job. Anyone know of good tools that are rented at local stores?

Btw... here is a good article i found. A good how to for changing valve springs.

P.S. The little tool in this article seems to work somewhat ok, but you have to use a hammer!

Get it from Greg V. He's got one for around $50 IIRC. It's the punch type, very convenient and easy to use.

I know that they are going to be a good percentage cheaper than snap on. As for how much I don't know.

*edit*

I think its this one:

compared to:

Happy now?

I think I paid about $110, worth it to me to not have to beat on my valves with a hammer. Besides the fact the retainers love to go flying sans the beating. If anyone else plans on using the Snapon tool I can share how I set mine up and the settings I used.
