That hose is standard on all SR20s

no need to take the intake mani off. just wiggle your way back there. either from under the car or from up top. should be an easy fix.

that hose is a whore to work with. Cut the old one off, then put the new one on. I highly recommend that "hose grease" stuff that autozone has, it makes putting the hose on super-easy and doesn't damage the rubber. I'm sure Vaseline would work too, but not sure if it could cause future issues with that hose.

I've always done these with then engine out of the car, but if I had to do one with the engine in the car I'd go from the bottom and probably remove the starter for access.
I'd unhook the radiator hose from the thermostat housing and completely unbolt the water necks. This would allow you to remove and install the hoses back there while being able to move the water necks around and gets lots of play. Screw trying to get the hose on otherwise.

I vote take off the ITM, on a VE it doesn't really take that long. Just unbolt it and push it to the drivers' side, MUCH easier to work back there with that pushed to the side.

Your engine should be fine. When my car was overheating it would only overheat when I got off the highway but on the highway it was fine because it was at least getting the air to cool it instead of nothing at all

Further inspection reveals that the original 2 wire clamp cut into the hose over time that's where its leaking from, I ordered it from nissan and will be here in the morning,

do I just remove the nuts that attach the intake manifold to the head or separate the 2 halves? do I have to remove the fuel rail? I've only taken the intake manifold off of a ga16 and that took me 2 days, so any help or how-to's would be very appreciated

So now I've been up since 9 pm last night and I have to go to school in 20 minutes and then to work right after till 8 am ant then work on this car with no sleep, I wish there was more time in a day

If it took you 2 days to take a manifold off id reccomend just doing it from the bottom. No sense in getting in over your head...

If you decide to take off the intake manifold, there's 6 bolts (3 pairs of 2) and 2 nuts. You would want to take it off from the head (not separate the upper and lower pieces). You don't have to take off the fuel rail. Just get those bolts and nuts off and slide it back off of the 2 studs and push it to the side. Probably want to take off the intake at the throttle body as well.
