So since I was needing to replace the wires in my 200sx (I think they have like 100k on them), I decided to do an experiment. I let the engine warm up, then popped the hood and pulled one of the spark plug wires off the distributor while idling - it ran like crap, I reconnected it, and it gave me a little shock, and still ran like crap. Shut it down, started it up, ran like garbage. I then pulled the ECU codes and got
a Misfire code, that said to check the plugs/wires. I already had a had a brand new plug wire set, installed them, now it runs fine!!
(Note: I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you want to possibly ruin your wires- I only did it because I went thru about 10 other things that some of you said it could be, nothing fixed the problem and I had extra wires anyway)
So that makes me think its just a bad spark plug wire in the Sentra VE (since the 1 became disconnected while driving) No one has those in stock anymore, so I ordered a new set, and they are coming in tomorrow. If this doesn't fix the problem, I suspect a bad distributor cap.
