I had a friend of mine who did this for years for semi trucks,as well as aliggnments.He did a set of all terrains on a truck I had that got flatspotted once that were half worn out.
He always said that by making them round again they will last longer,even if they shave alot off....he was right.
The tires will just wear everywhere when driving,so the flatspots wont go away on from driving.
Truck tires are expensive,so they want to get every mile possible out of them.
