My dad bought another 510
Yep and I'm posting here and not on ratsun in case he wants to keep it under wraps for a while. Asking him tomorow if I can say anything. But anyways anyone who really knows 510s know Art Hughes. He is very old, from Canada and one bad ass old man I love the guy. He has the most stock factory original looks like it just came out of the dealer 510 in the states, Hell probally the world. He's getting old, and having issues so she's been for sale for 2 years now.

I've been telling my dad to buy it since then, I've been afraid someone would get her and mutilate her, she deserves to be in a museum she's that perfect. Art only wanted 10k and everyone that looked at her turned her down saying she was to much, no way they could take care of her the way he does. Well apparently some guy offered him 6.5 for her as a everyday driver first car for his son......WTF. him and my dads always been good friends and my dad is highly known and respected in the datsun world so art wrote a very moving letter to my dad, thanking him for the car show at blue lake And asking if he would please buy his dime. He wants her to go to him so she will be left as is and not ruined. My dad flew up at 3:30 am this morning, and were goin over in the morning to look at her. My dad has lots of datsuns, the red one we built that's a high award winner, and now a peice of datsun history arts 510. It really moves me the man is such a sweet old guy, and I'm going to be so sad if something happens to him. He is the greatest.

I'm only saying it here cuz I know a few of u r into datsuns, I want to on ratsun so baddly but Idk if my dad wants to post all he does is lurk, or not say anything I'm asking tomorow. But I'm happy he finally listned to me, Arts letter made him tear up and finally make the right decision. I'll post pics tomorow of all the datsuns for u pic lovers. I'm just in a good mood, its not my car but I'm happy its in the family to be admired. It will always be a monument in the datsun world to one of datsuns greatest men, Arthur.

i've seen this car many times in person.. it would be VERY VERY difficult to find another in such pristine original condition like this one.. that old man knew exactly what that car would become an he was very smart to maintain it so well.

and lets not forget.. shes no trailer queen, he drives it to every event/show in the pacific nw

Exactley josh, and she never will be a trailer queen, not how we do things in my family. When it comes my time for her someday, hopefully a looking time from now I want my dad to live a good ol age, but when that time comes I hope art knows I will keep her exactley as she is. She may not be fast, she may not ne modified, but she's like looking at a 510 brochure.

That's good news right there.I know art personally & he's a good guy.I'll have to agree with you that the car should be left as is.

Ya super clean and original is right. I would normally suggest putting rims on old school cars but I think this one should be kept bone stock. It just has that feeling of history when you look at the picture. A history that should be left unaltered.

Art's car is featured in this Datsun History site.
