Quick EGR Question
Well I'm about to clean my EGR tube on my 98' SE-R and I have a quick
question. To remove the tube all I have to do is unbolt it from both
sides correct?!? I want to clean the tube first and then I'm going to
clean the actual EGR valve.

Food for thought... All I did was spray some carb cleaner into a bucket and let it soak... Brushed it out with a oval wire brush and it was amazing.

To take out the EGR valve I just loosen the two bolts in this picture correct, or is
there more bolts? Because I want to clean out the valve since I'm doing the tube.

2bolts on the EGR, 2 bolts for the bracket, some vaccum lines, and the tube going to the exhaust manifold

Those are the bolts that are attached to the manifold. I would recommend if you take that off just for cleaning to get a new gasket for it or use some black RTV to seal it back up. Because if it's not sealed it will be pretty loud from the exhaust.

So just to make sure. To take out the EGR valve for cleaning I unbolt the two bolts
holding it to the manifold and the vaccum lines. And I also take off the EGR tube
and clean that also. Is there anything else that I'm missing? Where are the bracket bolts?
And does anyone know how many vaccum lines I have to disconnect ?

That's about it... not really much to it.. Just don't forget that gasket. I don't know if you have to order that from the dealer or if it's something you can get from Autozone or Advanced... Let me search..

Here ya go

Thanks for the Heads up! Does anyone know the size of the bolt
that goes from the EGR tube to the actual valve?
