Thread: My House was on fire

Well, several mornings ago, I came home at 7:00 am in the morning to see my house boarded up and looking like a crack house. Well, a few calls later, it turns out we had an electrical fire in one of the light fixtures in the basement, which made its way through the ceiling rafters to the outside deck.

To say the least, the convention is put off for the moment as we are shuttling things between my and my brothers place. This, coupled with the fact I have finals this week and I need to put in a new oil pump in the track car, it does not seem feasible at this point to be bothered to hustle my way down there.

Also, no one was hurt as the roommate downstairs saw the fire and quickly called 911. But, since it (seemingly) has been burning in the ceiling rafters unnoticed, there is not much we could have done to quell the situation.

Good to see you guys are live and well. Fire is one of the things in life that scares the piss out of me. Had a local hotel go up in flames a few weeks back. Took like 30 fire companies to stop it and god knows how many hours. Could see flames from over a mile away.

Always will be another convention. Good luck on finals man.
