Premium Fuel?
I was looking through the maintenance log that came with my new (to me) P11. It is an Infiniti book, on the front pages it has some stats. One that got me interested said that Premium Fuel of 91 octane is required/highly suggested.

I've never heard of this, can anyone confirm with their P11's? I have a 2000.

I have used 91 or above with my P11's. On my 2nd one so far, but thats just me. I will also check the maintence log though later. I have 2002. So no difference between ours.

i havent owned the manual but my common sense told me to use premium (which i put in any car i own) since its asking for "platinum tipped" spark plugs.

Owners manual says different. They say 87 is fine, and 85 is fine above 4000 feet in the rocky mountain states.

I use 87, it runs fine.

That's not my answer, that's where I saw it originally and caused me to start this thread. After some searching it does seem like some engines are 9.8:1 CR. But those seem to be mainly JDM.

Also Nissan is good about warning people when premium fuel is needed. There usually is a sticker on the gas door.

This quick manual is probably just a typo .

Very true (point taken) when i had my Z32 it was posted inside the gas lid "Premium unleaded only" same as my SC300 and my girls Benz, My GF mom has an 08 C300 and she puts regular "87 oct" which voids the manufactures warranty my girl always tell her not to do it but she is one of those ppl who act like they it all as for our cars i only use "93 oct" in it esp since using platinum tipped spark plugs (im using NGK Iridium) and i have proven that it does get batter gas millage..................................... My 2 cents
