yup, that's a 99 trans and not the good P11 trans. If you do go 6 speed, lmk and I'll tell you what slave cylinder that will work and any Nissan dealer can get it quick instead of waiting for the p12 or GTIR one.

traction helps to strip third like that too, i've killed third gear just like that twice on my gti-r swap... what happens in my b13 is, im fighting to control the wheel spin in third, that when the power connects, it connects way to harsh for the gears to hold, causing the teeth to sheer right off and make me think the car is in neutral... so now im on my third tranny and i don't do rolling burn outs or wheel spin in the turns...

tired of taking out clutches trannies and driveshafts!

cool p11 you got there though

The transmission JP broke its not a P11/B15 transmission its just another B13/B14 but i have seen here in PR I guy that actually broke third gear on a P11 transmission from some serious Drag abuse but the good thing its that for P11/B15 3rd and 4th gears are sold separately and you dont have to replace the shafts....

Its time for you to get a 00-02 P11 Tranny and you will se what the hype is all about. The P11 tranny can break but it will not break that easy.

I remember when I came up with this tranny mod for the B13 and B14s back in 2003-2004. A customer came in with a G20T for a clutch job and was going to leave the car with me for 2 weeks as he was going on vacation. When I took out the gear box it felt so much heavier, so I got it on a scale and it worked ou to be about 17-20 pounds more than the old school box. So I took it apart to find out why. Made some calls to inquire about the gear boxes strength which is said to be 15% stronger made so by Nissan to meet their new quality standards as the newer B15s were and made more HP. Once I had a few facts to back up my findings I converted it out to cable on the shop floor and then converted back to hydro to put it back on the car.

Great mod if you are going turbo on SR20DET equiped car.

Early gear box is crap.

After stripping my third gear over ten times I went B15 and everything has been good since then.

Yep you either learn the hard way or the easy way

People say that getting a P11-B15 gearbox cost to much money at $850-$1050.

I say after you buy about 5-6 B13-B14 gearboxes at $350 Total $1750 to $2100 and waste all the time pulling them in and out. You will soon see which way you are saving money.

or

Trying buying the rebuild parts at about $235 and wasting all the time pulling the gearbox out an apart to fix it.

The B15-P11 gearbox is alittle to quick ratio for the street but great on slicks. If we can get about 10 people together we can have 3.90 FD made which would be great for turbo.

Hmmm, that sounds like an awesome idea. I still need to get myself a p11 trans, but I might be interested in something like that depending on cost.

I got my B15 trans for $750 lol from a local yard. If I keep my car and go all out on it I won't worry as much.
