Thread: Good H beam rod for $

Pauter rods are pretty good to.Attention to detail.

I ran pauter on my vet. They are amazing, but expensive.

If you wanna push the motor, do it on the Pauter's. They are some of the best rods out there and will be the least likely part to fail in the motor at 600+hp.

That's the problem, in case of another failure I can't afford to keep buying the pauter rods. They are just too expensive. These honda guys are doing upwards of 900whp on the eagles without failure revving to 10k. They don't really care if they break though because they build a new motor every year.

I don't plan on going over 600whp as the car is my daily. 400+whp for sure though.

i remember seeing this video a bit ago and this guy is running 850hp in his vette, the eagle rods very widely used i hnoestly dont think there will be any issues to worry about with them.

just out of curiosity, what are you imagining going wrong with your motor to ruin these rods? oil pump failure or?

I here what you are saying man, but the pauters can take the abuse.

So what are you gonna do, remove the pauters and put in the eagles so you dont care if you spin a rod or bend it. Cuz that just doesnt make sense.

So if you dont already have the pauters then get eagels, but if you are already running the pauters then dont change em. If the motor blows, then replace the pauters with eagles.

its obvious that its a matter of opinion really but there really isnt another rods that can beat the price for the quality of eagle's. sure there are much higher end rods, but why spend triple the money for a set of rods when you can run eagles for 1/3 the price?

850whp vette with eagles is pretty impressive and thats really only the tip of the iceburg as far as ppl running a ton of power with these rods.

The pauter rods will be inspected before being used in another engine. I had them inspected by the machine shop as I ran the engine dry and cooked the rods. The rods were said to be straight and good, just slightly discolored. I called pauter and they said they would be fine, but when the motor came back together there is a resonant knock at 1500rpm. I will find out thursday what it is that is causing it. If it is just the crank being out of spec then I will reuse the rods, otherwise I will be buying eagles so if the motor blows up again I can just buy another $300 set instead of $800 a set.

it just makes sense. Why risk ruining an awesome and expensive rod when my power goals aren't that extreme. 600whp is more than plenty for me.
