broken parts thread
I was wondering if anyone has ever started a broken parts thread with pictures. Either way here are some of my better ones. feel free to add some of your own, or coments. Enjoy

1st rocker arms. Note the rocker arm stoppers were not installed at the time of breakage.

Next a 10:1 piston after cyl 3 leaned out due to a faulty injector@20psi.

And last what happens when you install a set of jwt s4's incorrectly.

dang man, again im the king of carnage, haha ive got this one beat, ill start from recent to old

Ve head after reving to 14k during mis shift, floated the valves.

before this i cracked the ring lands on 2 pistons from detonation 22psi on a t28 by accident (stupid manual boost controllers) sorry no pic of that one.

before that was my semi build sr with brand new cp pistons, cosworth headgasket, failed lifter threw the rocker arm, lodged my left-side number 3 exhaust valve open before shattering and bent the valve and piston came up and smashed it. This was carnage bigtime.

btw the rod was still attached to the crank even after putting that big hole in the cylinder wall. Thats strength right there.

here is a pic of the pistons that came out of the block before the semi build.

this was the motor before that, melted the piston due to a faulty suby sti injector

this was a tranny i got from a buddy that had a bad front imput shaft bearing causing the gears to separate.

This was the tranny before that that cracked the rear case due to a launch at the track and possibly my rear tranny bolts loose, thats what im thinking caused that to happen.

So do i win, haha, its been an expensive lessons learned, a full build is in progress while i have some fun with a 150k motor from a buddies car. haha

Nice pics keep em comming.

I dont have pics of some of my carnage. I had one engine i bought from a forum member that (rebuilt it them self) lesson learned, that engine spun or destroyed every bearing in the bottom end on break in period, i had 1300 miles on it.

My original de+t lasted a long time until i dynoed it and had the boost at 14psi with the top mount interheater, or as i called it the george forman intercooler. It melted quite a few spark plugas and there is quite a bit of detonation damage on the deck of the block and tops of the pistons. The head gasket eventually blew. This one i can take some pics of.

lesson 1 too much boost without a good intercooler=hg damage at the least.

lesson 2 never buy an engine that anyone built themself unless you know they are repudable and or know what they are doing.

Lesson 3 ALWAYS have used injectors cleaned and flowed before using. Even if they came out of your friends dsm and worked great 1 week before you bought them.

Lesson 4 rev limiters arent there to bounce off of them for extended periods of time.

Lesson 5 (not pictured) Make sure you have a good bracket holding your turbo cold air intake on or it may fall off on a bumpy section of highway, and you may run over that expensive hks air filter, and q45 mafs.

Most of these issues can be avoided if you take your time follow the fsm, and dont cheap out on anything. The smallest thing can come back to do you or youe engine in. LOL

This Is over the 7-8 years i have owned my nx, so i guess my luck could be worse. I am only on my 4th de. I am finally building one to stand up to some decent boost and hold up for a while.
