Thread: TEIN SS b13 kit??

I just purchased a VERY,VERY clean 91 b13 with this suspension. Now this is my first time with coilovers like this. I have agx's and road magnets on my Ve powered NX and i thought that was sick, but doesn;t even hold a candle to this set-up especially with lightwieght 15's(not sure brand) on azenis, wilwood 11" 4 piston calipers slotted and drilled, which are noisey btw, but stop on a dime, so its worth the nose..... And maxima brakes in the rear.

so as you can see this car was set-up for road racing or to domate auto-cross at the very least..

Oh I also forgot it has a whiteline 4 point brace undernath.
I also have been sitting on a 3/4 st rear sway bar so thats going on next to make even better....i think

Now i just want to know if anybody has any experience with this set-up and I what wondering what is the best street set-up with set up the teins????
And also whats the lowest you can go for the best perforemance??? The car actualy handles SOOOO well it feels like a old RWD 325i with all the similar goodies.

Like I said I am new at suspension stuff and just want some advice on what I should do with this car??? Street it? Track it? Maybe even start practicing road racing, which btw I have no idea about either.

One last thing about the car is it has a BN 10:1 UK motor and its fast! Alot faster then any 9.5:1 sr20 I driven. It actually "ALMOST" feels as fast as my 190whp+ VE(no lie) Best part is I have a nice t25 turbo kit for it too, so thats yet another question..Whats the most boost this motor can handle??

Nice car john ! I have run these on my old b13 would not recomend going to low as these cars don't have much suspension travel and I would set shocks as soft as posible for street use with these nice smooth roads we have ! Aslo would recomend a set of progress adjustable sway bars these are night and day compared to st bars . Good luck that car should do great for auto x

Same advice here mine are sit to the softest and are pretty high. Setup is great with the wilwoods and maxima rears very fun car to drive

wouldnt you be able to lower it more then usual due to the fact that their coilovers? or is it the rest of the suspension that doesnt have travel

I know ppl say don't boost over like 9 or 10 psi on those motors. Post up some pics

I ran 12 to 15 psi on my 10:1 motor for like 2 years and never had a problem . Good luck with the car its very nice .

I say sell the turbo set up if you want to track it a lot. You won't need that power until your skills exceed the abilities of the car.

Be easy with the rear sway bar. You have to get used to driving with it. It'll help the car rotate when you get off the gas. That type of ability might end up as an unexpected surprise on the road.

The car looks really good man. From what I have read the Teins are not as good as some other track oriented suspensions that are available for these cars, but for a beginner I think you should be fine with them.
