I would def. do the KYBs before the Monroes.
Look at it this way, Monroe doesn't make anything performance oriented. All they make are OEM replacements which may or may not be as good as OEM.
I have used a few sets of KYB GR2s (on different SE-Rs) and they feel exactly like AGXs on a softer setting. Which is to say they feel great with stock springs.
