Thread: N/A SR20 best manifold/ header gasket?

Having a lot of troubles with manifold gaskets. Every one I've used has perished with in no time at all.

I'm gonna take off the header to see if it's that that isn't sitting right, and then I am looking at fitting a proper gasket on it just for peace of mind.

So what have people used? I've seen copper? ones on the bay of e. Not sure, haven't got the faintest clue.

got quite a few bolt on's in case someone thinks I'm bolting it to an otherwise stock engine and there's no point.

what manifold are you using? Maybe that's the issue?

Nissan gasket is the best option. If you want a cheaper easy to get option use a auto parts store gasket with copper gasket sealer spray. make sure both surfaces are clean and true, most leaks are due to a warped flange.

I did think Nissan, but wasn't too sure.

I did have a hot shot header, but had a huge crack in the 4-2 join and a f'd downpipe so I bought a toyosports one as it was cheaper to get that than to fix the hot shot

but so far I really don't like the header. Yes gains but the o2 sensor wires are about 8mm away from the fan due to the location it bolts to header. Gonna repair hot shot next year.

also... that nissan gasket is for an S chassis SR20. are the gaskets the same? (probably silly question but got no idea about the rwd ones)

GSpec is best bet, OEM and cheap.

Have a Machine shop check out the mounting plate, it might be warped. It happens.
