Anyone ITB'd a DE yet
Just checking in on an idea that was brewing several years ago. I am wondering if anyone was successful with putting the Pulsar GTiR Independent throttle bodies onto a DE. Seeing that there are some better ecu options besides the AEM these days, It seems it can be done. I am just wondering who has some luck.

I have heard its pointless due to their small size. I never had the experience with them and honestly I think it would be a waste of time. I noticed some guys even ditched the ITB's for a traditional big plenum/runners/single TB design.

The manifold will not bolt up to the DE head. It would have to be modified.

see that was the issue if i remember correctly but we were talking maybe a 14 inch difference. i remember back in the day there was talks of using the thermoblock spacer for port matching ( if you want to call it that). I was not coming into this thread thinking " oh shit mad power yo!". The only advantage i can see to them would be a little kick in throttle response for some autocross kicks. and the sound

I have seen on youtube where a guy put the GTi-R throttle bodies on a rwd SR20 however.

Charles used GTI-R ITB's on a lowport DE. Car made 200whp+ n/a, but had some good work into it. Jun 280*cams, custom header, valvetrain etc

He had a build thread somewhere on here.

But for the money spent... VE

come on someone has to be doing it old school. I'm not sure if I want to be bitten by the street modified bug in SCCA autocrossing. But how it is going it will eventually end up that. I can forsee a stripped out, caged, Carbon hatch NX that is slammed on 13x8's with a 240hp VE setup with an SR16 gearbox... shit. need to get a tissue now. This forum is such a bad influence.

I know someone who did it on a RWD DE. He called it the most pointless SR20DE mod ever, and kept an image of it, saying just that, for his signature for a long time on an engine tuning forum I'm a member of.
