b14 longblock in b13 chassis. HELP!
ok so im in the middle of swapping a b14 ga in a b13. found out the intake manifold ports arent the same.

questions.
will the b13 tranny bolt up? ive searched and some say yes, some say no.
is there any way to make the b14 motor work. either with using the b14 intake manifold? has anyone done this swap successfully?
thanks

I don't know anything about the GA, but if they are like all SRs then the tranny will bolt up fine. Not all SR intake manifolds are interchangeable, so I'm not sure about the GA. Every GA I've seen would appears to be the same though. If you can't find your answer here, then you can just test fit the mani. It's only a few bolts man.

yea the ports on the b13 mani dont line up with the b14 head. but i saw that some guy on nissanforums did it. my question is how because you can only port the inlets so much, and even then they still wont line up.

So what's so different on the B14 intake mani that you can't use the whole engine in your B13? I put a B14 SR in my B13. Some of the wiring, and hoses were a little different, but I made it work just fine. I also used some of my old sensors, like the ECU temp sensor is different between B13/14. From what I've noticed on B13/14 GAs they seem more similar than B13/14 SRs. Post up some pics of the differences between wiring/hose locations of the 2. SR distributors will bolt up to each other between low and high port. GAs may be the same, but I believe the GA dist. is similar to the KA in that it has a gear that has to line up perfect. So, you'd need to set it to TDC before messing with that.

The heads are of a slightly different design. You must use either the complete b14 head and manifold, or the b13 head and manifold. They are not really interchangable, coolant passages, ports, etc. they're at different heights and such on each head.
The distributors between the two aren't interchangable, without modification to the wiring harness either. The b13 uses an external coil, while the b14 uses an internal one.

To answer your most direct questions...
Yes, the transmission will bolt up. The block is the same.
And yes you can make it work in the b13 with the b14 manifold.
And yes the swap has been done before.
