S13 SR20DET with '00 G20 SR20DE's lifters and roller rockers?
I have a highport (52F) S13 SR20DET and a donor low port (53J) SR20DE from a 2000 infiniti G20 that had ~40k miles. Im using the crank from the G20's DE in my rebuild. A few of my DET lifters were quite frozen at the top and took some force to free them up even after soaking in oil a few days, but now they open and close at least so idk if there may be some junk in them and if they're even ok to use again.
i looked at the donor DE's lifters and they appear to be very similar in size though they move a little easier than most of mine...then i noticed that 'nissan changed to a roller rocker arm setup after 1999' (in the low port design) according to wiki (which also says mixing and matching in the valvetrain doesn't necessarily work).
Im wondering if it's safe/possible to A) use the low port SR20DE lifters in my high port SR20DET (if B) is a "no") and B) can i use the roller rocker arms instead of the hydraulic rocker arms? The lifters and rocker arms look very similar and i thought cams are interchangeable so i guess there's a chance or does this have something to do with the VVT change?
