sr20de/ve exhaust maifold heat shield w/poll
Hey dashians

we are thinking of building a heat shield for our race car and might possibly build some extras to sell. they will be for the de/ve with aftermarket exhaust manifold(headers).

do you guys have any ideas or things that would make the part more appealing to you?

let me know what you guys think

Mac

ps mods please move this if its in the wrong section

it depends on how much

Depends on how much as he said. But tentatively yes, my engine bay temps are high and I do not trust the exhaust wrap

As they say, it depends on how much $$ but, i would like to buy one, to keep my engine bay cooler and make it look more stock-like.

i heard that doing a thermal coating is better than the wrap. I saw somewhere that people said their headers cracked over time with the thermal wrap. but i think a shield would be nice, depending on the price.

ok ya i think price is deffinitly the deciding factor. the cheaper it will be the more plain it will look. ill post pictures up as we go along building them

I think a heathield will never look as good as a nice header any ways, so function should be the primary focus. So the best function at lowest price that doesn't cause the heatshield to look cheap or like an afterthought would be my vote.

I really do think this is a necessary item to be made and I think it can/will sell.

I would probably get one, but would have to go with how it looks in the bay. I agree with coors75 though... headers always look nicer, but the costs of flooding the bay with heat is also a concern... I'm a pretty picky person when I buy things

i think 98% of the time on a daily, an exhaust head shield will appeal to most. its not often my engine is on show anyways lol
