That's a nice corolla. I would get one if they were available here and with vvlt-i.

The 2009 and 2010 models swapped the 1.8L that was nice for some 2.4L....

I just noticed this. Weird stuff. That 2ZZ-GE engine is awesome. I do not like the 2.4L from the newer models though.

The 05-06 models are the nice nice ones.

I have heard people doing 2zz swaps into MR2 Spyders. Hear it's similar to the B13 with a VVL swap. Especially since the MR2 comes with the 5 speed. I am not a fan of the gearing on the 6 speed Celicas.. they drop back under the curve every shift point. Needs a computer to remedy that.

I have a 09 Matrix XRS with the 2.4 and love it. It is a fun daily but i would never mod it past the intake i put on just to hear the motor. Its too big and heavy but it does take the corners pretty nice and plenty of passing power.

I would agree my de is boring even after cams and bolt ons. I'm itching for a ve within the next year.
I have drivin a 03-04 matrix xrs and that car was pretty quick.

i'd of thought the closer gear ratio's of a 6sp would keep you in the cam between gear changes? i know my lil bro's rolla's never drops out of it when going hard to 8200rpm.
