need help with 240
well i know this is an SR site but theres some people with Knowledge about the KA, and i need some help with my cousins car

the car sometimes only revs to 2500 and boggs like hell, every now and then it will go higher but nothing past 4500-5000 rpms. iv swaped over my coil dist plugs and no change, iv regrounded the maf and swaped in my MAF and nothing still. oh and the fuel filter is also new

so possible what im thinking is a bad FPR or something in the fuel rail(bad injector), or maybe some wiring with the MAF is fuged.

basicly any help at the moment is good help

thank you

could it be an EGR problem? also the cars only mods are an airfilter and muffler

Try switching out the FPR, and test the injectors if that doesn't fix it. My friend had a similar issue but it was sputtering between 4-5k and sometimes downlow around 3k, actually just ran some injector cleaner through the system and it somehow fixed itself.

ok so i havent done anything yet, but i did take the car to my uncle(hes a tech. so hes got more toys/tools than i do) and hooked the car up to a diagnostic. and this is what happin

the car was throwing a few codes(at idle) he wanted to see what the car would do when it was reved so i reved and held it the first time(so that the car wouldnt break up) then i took it up a notch more(then the car broke up), when the car broke up the diagnostic lost connection, so he diagnosis is a bad ground.

now that hard part is finding the bad ground

Switch out the injectors. That's what it sounds to me. The same exact thing happened to me what I had my SE-R. It possibly could be one injector that is bad, but it is a good idea to replace all of them anyway.

The way to find out for sure is by taking each injector plug off and observing for a change in how the motor is firing. When you get to the one injector where you don't see a difference, you'll know that's the culprit. Now, if you take each one of the injector plugs out and it gets worse with all of them, something else is probably the reason for your motor not running right.

Good luck.
