Thread: Eibach Sportlines...has anyone used these?

I got a set of KYB AGXs, I am looking for a spring to go with them. I am looking for a spring that will not make the ride and handling crappy, or cause bottoming out. A forum member has a set of Eibach Sportlines for sale. Has anyone used/is using this spring on your b14? If so, what is your opinion on them?

The suspension thread states this:

B14 Sportline: 1.9" front drop, 1.9" rear drop
Struts To Use: Will not work well with any struts.
Rate: 150 front, 140 rear
B14 Pro-Kit: 1.4" front drop, 1.4" rear drop
Struts To Use: *CSK's only for a daily driver, no OEM length struts.
Rate: 160 front, 140 rear.

This is a technical write up and not tested, I have searched but could not find anything.

If i had to choose between the two I would go with the pro kit. The problem is suspension travel. With only 3" of suspension travel to begin with a drop of almost 2 " is leaving you with 1" of suspension travel. Not Ideal, Obviously being able to dampn the struts can help but only so much.

You have some audacity to think you know enough to question, test or dismiss ANYTHING in that write-up. You're apparently smart enough to find the Suspension Thread and read part of it, but not quite smart enough to grasp the essence of it and do math.

3 inches of travel minus 1.9 inches of travel equals 1.1 inches of travel. On a weak-ass spring that is not enough to keep you off the bumpstops. These are FACTS.

You should DEFINITELY go buy those Sportlines and test that so easily dismissed "technical write up" yourself SeaJayEmm. By all means, have at it cowboy.

We're alright SeaJayEmm. Sorry I snapped at you. That Suspension Thread is there specifically to keep you from stupidly doing exactly what you were contemplating doing.

I know it is frustrating, but we still only have two (2) choices in conventional springs that are worth a damn. And you just named them.

I went with the Road Magnets, I like the way they ride.

I had sportline springs and agx struts on my 97 SE-R. Way too much bounce, car looked nice though. My 98 SE-R has pro kit springs, ride is much better than my 97.
